Waso Café

Now a citywide chain, Waso Café began at this Ha Mei San Tsuen location in 2010 with its signature pineapple bun stuffed with tomato, fried egg and a thick slab of butter. Beloved for comforting cha chaan teng classics, it is known for crowd-pleasers such as egg salad toast and corned-beef-and-egg bun.  

Despite its humble roots, the diner draws long queues even before its 8am opening, and counts local legend Chow Yun-fat among its fans. Other must-tries include macaroni with pork chop and chicken wings in tomato soup, and rice noodles with coriander, century egg and fish slices in fragrant fish broth.
